AIM workshops are two-day topic-based sessions. designed carefully , to introduce children to various elements of creative writing. Children also learn the relevant vocabulary, techniques, and best practices required to understand the topic thoroughly. These workshops Suitable for children aged 6-11-year-olds.

This workshop will teach children to create characters and build stories around them. Whilst working with characters, we will trigger children’s imagination to create stories and other characters. We will carve characters by giving them physical features, age, likes and dislikes, and fears. It is fun-packed, two-day workshop where children will learn to create unforgettable characters for their unique stories. Exclusive AIM resources are provided to the participants.

Exploring story settings- Bringing the settings alive with five senses

Children will learn to use description for the setting to show rather than tell the reader where and when everything is happening.  They will understand the importance of figurative language and sensory details to bring the settings alive.   .  They will learn to begin a story using description of settings and how to add suspense to capture the reader's attention, making them want to keep reading to know what happens next. Children will learn to start a story that catches the reader's interest right from the beginnings. 

Children will learn the techniques used to advance the story in interesting ways. Thinking through the chosen story genre, students will include details such as dialogues, character’s emotions, dilemmas and conflicts. Children will learn to wrap up the story and understand how important is to conclude the story in a satisfying way.  Exclusive AIM resources are provided to the participants.

Vocabulary plays an integral part in acquiring comprehension and composition skills. We use pioneering methods and techniques to introduce children to new words. These techniques are scientifically proven to enhance word learning and retention.  This two-day intensive course is designed to help children understand and enhance their comprehension skills. Each session is for 2hrs. Children are taught different strategies to boost analysing and interpreting skills. They learn how to make inferences, connection and context clues. They practice varied comprehension tasks based on fictional, non-fictional and poetry extracts. Also, they are introduced to various techniques to enhance their vocabulary. Children will create newspaper reports and articles that are intended to entertain whilst they inform about factual events or information.
