Course Information
In this exciting 6-week course, children aged 8–11 will become confident young writers as they plan, write, and edit their very own short novella. Along the way, they’ll learn how to build imaginative worlds, create interesting characters, develop story structure, and write powerful dialogue—all while boosting their creativity, confidence, and communication skills. Through fun activities, storytelling games, and weekly writing challenges, they’ll discover that writing is not only about grammar and spelling—it’s about expressing yourself, solving problems, and bringing ideas to life. By the end, each child will have a finished manuscript.
Learning Resources
Each Saturday, your child will unlock a new module on our interactive learning platform, complete with downloadable e-worksheets. Over the 6 weeks, they'll explore key storytelling skills including: Observation, Character Creation, Scene Setting, Plot Development, Dialogue Writing, and Crafting Endings—all delivered in a fun, age-appropriate way that keeps creativity flowing.
Weekly Sessions
Every Saturday, your child is invited to join a live Zoom group session with award-winning children’s author Sarah Mussi and fellow young writers. These sessions offer a safe, supportive space to share ideas, ask questions, and build confidence through group discussion.
Can’t make it one week? No problem! All Zoom calls are recorded and sent via email so your child can catch up anytime.
Their Very Own Book
The grand finale! After six weeks of imagination, writing, and editing, your child will have the option to publish their very own novella—a keepsake they can proudly hold in their hands and share with family and friends.
This course is hosted via Zoom every Saturday, making it easy to join from anywhere.
