  • Aishwarya Gupta is a young, versatile, nine year old girl, studying at Glendower Preparatory School in Year 5, with varied passions and achievements. Aishwarya loves writing and mathematics and is a JMC (Junior Maths Challenge) Gold winner. She won the Kensington and Chelsea Art Week competition for her poem, ‘Open your Heart’ which was presented at the Marie Jose Gallery in Kensington. Her poem, ‘I Am Small’ was selected for the Friday Song Challeng ecompetition by the Young Poets Network and Britten Pears and will be composed into a song by the award-winning musician, YolanDa Brown OBE. Her story ‘Sammy, The Cat’ won the Screen Your Story award 2023 and is being made into a short film. Besides academics, Aishwarya has already made a mark in the field of Indian classical dance with performances at historic events like the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations 2022, Westminster Abbey, Bloomsbury Festival and the International Kuchipudi Festival. She was selected along with her team for the Regional finals at Trinity Laban in 2022 and the Youth Dance Showcase at The Place. She was also featured on BBC Breakfast in 2021 for her performance in Katha, a path-breaking inter-generational dance theatre project during the pandemic, raising awareness and funds for folk artisans and musicians in India. Aishwarya loves music and is a Grade 7 pianist and a Grade 5 vocalist. She loves visiting her family and friends in India and is greatly influenced by Indian culture and her heritage. Aishwarya finds joy and inspiration in the world around her and she writes with sensitivity and simplicity. Her collection of poems, written over the last three years, reflect her values, dreams and aspirations.
